Juraj Mydla, Magdaléna Žiaková: Fog machine
About a technology that displays nothing, but instead alters the conditions of seeing.
We all look at the same sky, yet we see something different. Some see chemtrails; others see deportation flights. We explain what remains invisible through scientific models, personal experience, and conspiracy narratives.
The lecture-performance on the visible and the invisible is taking shape as an open-ended research process. The resulting work will sit somewhere between lecture, performance, and a tribute to one of the theatre's most inconspicuous stage machines.
Based on a True Story is an international arts project that brings together three cultural organizations from Central Europe—ARCHA+ (Czech Republic), Komuna Warszawa (Poland), and Projekt Batyskaf (Slovakia). Its goal is to support and implement the curatorial concept by young theater artists Adam Dragun (SK/CZ) and Olga Ciężkowska (PL), titled Based on a True Story. The project focuses on contemporary theater and performance practices that employ documentary approaches and research-based artistic processes. More information can be found here.

Magdaléna Žiaková (1994)
She studied theater dramaturgy at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU). As part of the Erasmus+ program, she spent a semester in Kraków and participated in a workshop on devising theater at the Nowy Teatr under the guidance of Sodja Lotkerová and Wojtek Ziemilski. She wrote her dissertation, “Inspiration from Video Games in Theater,” and brought video games to the stage in the production *Playformance: Walkthrough*. She has collaborated on creative projects with the theater company Asfd divadlo ašttnnkorazd fildj.
Juraj Mydla (1994)
He graduated from the Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in the studio of Ilona Németh. He was a member of the Asfd divadlo ašttnnkorazd fildj troupe and collaborated with several independent theater groups in Slovakia, primarily in the field of video art. He was a long-time member of the performance troupe Marína Abramovič Po Sebe Neupratuje. He currently works as an artist and cultural worker in Bratislava.
